Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday asserted that the former prime minister had always served the masses with the “verve”.

The former lawmakers called on Shehbaz Sharif. Prominent among those who attended the meeting were Iftikhar Nazir, Rana Ishtiaq, Sajid Mehdi, Qamarul Islam, and Ahsan Raza Khan.

On this occasion, the PML-N leadership discussed matters in line with the upcoming general elections and party affairs.

Shehbaz Sharif had commended the party leaders and workers for playing their role in staging the public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan on October 21, which marked the return of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.

The former prime minister had expressed optimism about the country’s progress under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif. “We [PML-N] have the objective of leading the country towards prosperity,” Shehbaz Sharif added.

He expressed resolve that the Nawaz Sharif-inspired PML-N will address the masses’ problems and control inflation.

“We will again start the journey of prosperity and economic revival with the blessings of the Higher Power,” the former premier added.

– Nawaz Sharif will take part in general elections –

PML-N senior leader Rana Sanaullah said today that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will contest elections for the general seat.

Speaking to media at Model Town in Lahore, the former interior minister said the PML-N supremo will soon hold the meetings with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and the other political parties.

‘’There is no legal obstacle for Nawaz Sharif to take part in the general elections. Nawaz Sharif will remain the party chief, and Shehbaz Sharif will continue to serve the PML-N as the party president,’’ Sanaullah stated.

Speaking about the possibility of talks with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Sanaullah stated, ‘’The PML-N is ready to hold talks with those leaders of the PTI who were not involved in the May 9 mayhem, for the sake of the economic revival.’’
